加賀友禅の染めによる気品ある文様、気高く舞う鳥の姿、ひと筆ひと筆に「しあわせを願う心」が息づいています。

A piece encountered in Kyoto — a Hanayome Noren, a traditional wedding curtain from the Kaga region of Ishikawa Prefecture.

On the morning of her wedding day, the bride passes through this curtain as it is hung at the groom’s home — a symbol of her step into a new chapter of life, surrounded by her family’s blessings.

The refined patterns of Kaga Yuzen dyeing and the graceful birds in flight express heartfelt wishes for happiness in every brushstroke.

Over time, the fabric has quietly witnessed a passing era and now entrusts its story to the next generation.

By framing this timeless textile as a Kimono Board, it is given a new life —

an art piece to be handed down to those who come after us.

This four-panel work harmonizes the beauty of Japanese tradition with modern spaces —

Une pièce découverte à Kyoto : un Hanayome Noren, rideau nuptial traditionnel de la région de Kaga, dans la préfecture d’Ishikawa.

Le matin du mariage, ce tissu est suspendu à l’entrée de la maison du marié. La mariée le traverse, symbole d’un nouveau départ, entourée des bénédictions de sa famille.

Les motifs délicats de la teinture Kaga Yuzen et les oiseaux qui s’élèvent avec grâce expriment, dans chaque trait, un vœu de bonheur.

Ce tissu, témoin du temps qui passe, transmet aujourd’hui son histoire aux générations futures.
